Men of Power Blog…..

8 Aug

I have been meeting people in porn left and right. In between the “why the fuck aren’t you shooting for every site under the sun? ”  or ” Why aren’t thier more black men in mainstream porn ?” ( btw what the fuck is mainstream anyone? someone? ) I find myself asking … “Where are the black guys BEHIND  the scenes in gay porn?”

IT seems like some people want to do a LOT  of complaining about who is and who isnt getting hired … ubt, what the fuck are you doing with YOUR

*AHEM*

“STAR POWER”

attacking newcomers with goals and plans?

retiring ? (to keep bitching)

JUST WHINING ABOUT IT!?

Why aren’t you taking that energy and creating the change we all say we want to see?

I mean if u have so many awards and so many fans that you SWEAR  will follow you hen why not start your own company?  Why aren’t you cobranding with one of the studios that love you so much?

I do my fair share of bitchin’. I sure do. Constantly,I really do.

But, guess the fuck what? I’m no star (yet)

But, im still acreaming loud as i can and guess what? i HAVE  a plan. I’m not just bitching about not being able to get work.  Im doing something about it . Not just for myself but other models who are over looked by studios for … whatever reason.

I have no problem with mentioning other models or my blog. In fact that part of my plan. There is not a single agent that promotes minority models.

another role that needs to be filled.

Simply put: DO SOMETHING.

Ty Lattimore did it

Rock did it.

for fucks sake THUGZILLA  did it.

LEARN THE BUSSINES AND MAKE THE NEXT STEP . THATS THE ONLY WAY TO MAKE A CHANGE CRYING AND WHINING ABOUT IT WONT !

So do you think there is anything us not in porn can do?

Yes. People need to write to the sites and ask for it. They need to ask why it isn’t happening. Push the studios.

So as I read this post I have this question. Do studios not know how integrate, or do they not want to? If you do not know how ok that is one thing. But how would studios or stars know what there fans want since no one talks to the fans. Have I missed surveys that have been sent out to fans? I see on twitter most porn stars are not talking to their fans, so how would they know. At what point would people say this is not what I want. But as a porn consumer do you know what you want, or do you just adjust your tastes to what is put out? In some gay circles is it a bad thing to admit you like ethnic guys? What is it about ethnic you do not like? Also fuck mainstream, their needs to be a new stream. The world has evolved into so many colors, dialects, and cultures. As far as studios does change equal loss of income? So many questions that need answers. As I write this I just thought this, I do not need answers. When you are starting a new trend in porn there is no guidebook. Or does the ethnic market need to find a bigger voice? Within there own community. Some of this may not all make sense but it is a way for me to think aloud.

      @Cock2go:

Well it’s like what Diesel Washington was ranting about right before he deleted his Twitter: I don’t know if what he was saying has any merit, because I don’t work directly with studios, but he was saying that sometimes some of the men who have subscriptions to studios will tell the studios that if they hire any black men / men of color, that they’ll cancel their subscriptions. And the studios these days need all the business they can get so they don’t want to step on their customer’s toes.

Like I said, I don’t know if it has ANY merit, but it’s something to think about.

Angel, you’ve made an excellent point. Why aren’t there more men of color behind the set? And you’ve answered it, too. Good man.

You have an open invitation to share your thoughts with my readers any time with absolutely no limitations on the subject matter.

I mean it when I say this: You are the best writer on this subject of your generation. By far.
